Origins

Birmingham Small Arms Company

Read the manufacturer through the machines that changed its engineering, racing, design, market or cultural meaning.

The Birmingham Small Arms Company was much older than the motorcycle, but motorcycle production began in the early twentieth century. BSA’s scale made it a dominant British manufacturer, spanning utility Bantams, sporting Gold Stars and parallel twins. The historic brand later returned with a modern Gold Star.
