Malcolm Campbell pushed the outright world land speed record beyond 300 mph in Blue Bird in 1935.

Richard Noble set an outright world land speed record of 633.468 mph with Thrust2 in 1983.
ThrustSSC — 1997 Land Speed Record
On 15 October 1997, Andy Green drove ThrustSSC to 763.035 mph over one mile, setting the outright world land speed record and exceeding the speed of sound.
